We believe the internet should work for all of us—not just some of us. That’s why we come together to learn, share, and build more accessible, inclusive digital spaces.
We host quarterly meetups in Asheville, NC where you can learn more about digital inclusion in a supportive, collaborative space.
If there’s something you want to learn or share, we’d love for you to join us!
We’d love to see you at the next meetup.
Join us in Asheville on Tuesday, July 15, from 5 to 7 PM for the next Digital Accessibility and Inclusive Design Meetup. RSVP and we’ll send you the location and all the details.
What is digital accessibility?
Digital accessibility is the practice of ensuring that websites, apps, documents, and other digital tools work for people with disabilities.
The internet touches nearly every part of life: education, work, health care, civic engagement, connection, and recreation. Yet the vast majority of websites are still difficult or impossible to use for people with disabilities. Accessibility barriers also impact people affected by the digital divide, those with temporary disabilities (like a broken arm), and people experiencing changing abilities as they age.
Building accessible digital spaces removes barriers and helps ensure everyone has equal opportunities to learn, connect, and fully participate in society. And often, accessibility improvements make websites and digital tools easier to use for everyone.
At its core, digital accessibility is about equity, dignity, and belonging. And it’s something we can all help create.
